I use to be semi active on this thread and prefer the game folk over some of the other folk

I am in MS and know numerous game breeders but I don't think our state has any shows sadly.

Thats a shame... I would have thought the South would be very active still.

California is very active still. Once a month at different locations in California. Only one or two in So Cal tho where I am..

What do you think about a gamefowl Olympics I mentioned a few posts back?

Ironically enough we are but we finally just started having state shows a few years back. Doesn't help a lot of the game fowl breeders are older sadly :/ and many are getting out of them or heading towards the show games AKA OEBGs

IMO I love the idea, having shown hogs I seems more controlled and can't be no worse then showmanship poultry. Sadly I been inform no hard core game birds due roosters fighting *sigh*

New ideas nowadays rarely are actually better.

Now that is bunk by any measure. Folks that make more of their lives do not follow that philosphy. That is talk of someone down in the dumps not feeling good about things.

See link below. Might help you find MS version. My experience the meetings as much a change to exchange stories as anything. For many the annual meetings are the only time they now. They do as Shubin describes. Most are more gentleman like that we operate even on this site as a whole. Pretty fun to talk to and they do invest in the new folks sharing knowledge. Not everyone attends but saying no hardliners do is not accurate.
