Words of wisdom:
Pay attention to the tides. Decoys don't float well in mud, neither does a canoe.
When beaching the canoe make sure it is beached, before taking off waders. Had to go in after my canoe and all my gear. Wind gust pushed it back out into open water. Yeah!! Wet ride home.
 
That sucks I learned my lesson. Now sand bar or mud flat no problem throw an aluminum anchor out and drag myself over. With being at or below sea level low tide can be quick

Not too bad. High 30s and no I only saw a handful. It gets worse and worse every year. They'll be here in February when the season is closed. I didn't even see any mergansers.
 
Yeah I haven't seen as many hunters either the past couple years. Early on for wood ducks but after that most just stick with deer hunting. They are gonna have to make drastic changes to the seasons or nobody is gonna care enough for DU or delta waterfowl. Oh well back to tying flies I guess
