Migration of wild birds impacts my cockyard predator management. Disease harboring songbirds and poultry eating raptors either have different timing for stay-overs or duration of stay-overs. Of the edibles that come onto my actual property, the Blue-winged Teal and Timber Doodles hung around a lot longer than usual.

[ The migrating ducks will be here Jan. 23rd right on schedule

Heres my two warhorse hens and my warhorse stag. He is currently 10 months old. I just put the hens under lights so they will start laying early.

Yeah no kidding. It's just too much work, paddling out there breaking ice, picking up decoys etc.. I'll still keep going but I'm gonna be doing a lot of whining.

I'm more into raising show gamefowl and fine your birds to be very interesting. I can't tell by the photos and wanted to ask a few questions. The females appear that they may have birchen coloring. Do they have some silver striping at the back of head and top of neck? Also, are the eyes of the females a mulberry color? I like the birds and wish you the best with your breeding program.

I've only seen one woodcock hanging around. Usually have a few that stay around through the holidays. Blue wing teal are nonexistent around here past august.
