Wow, I missed a few days and look how much I missed!

Centra, this is an interesting point to me.  I suppose being game is all that really matters, but that seems to be a complex trait.  I have heard some old cockers tell stories about their best cock being gentle as can be and great to handle, but set him down and stand back.  To me it seems as though the ideal would be a directed aggression, but then again it can be a fine line.  I don;t have much use for a rooster that is aggressive towards everything.  Does that make sense?

It is not about just being game although the other attributes of game chickens have now value without bird being game first. As soon you are not the only one that is game, then the other attributes such as strength, speed and endurance plus a couple that cannot be mentioned come into play. Aggression is also important but that can be a function of the target it is directed at. Directing aggression at handler, bystander or judge is not advantageous. I simply do not like aggressive birds as they make me sore. The way I work around birds these days, having to worry about their disposition is a distraction. When they are trying to pop you they are also stressed and not as accommodating when I want them to or not to do something.

The standing back part I am not so certain about what you mean. When I put a bird down I do step back a little and bird steps away from me a little. I think if I were to stand in place bird would step further away and possibly be a little nervous.

I kept two low station birds to see how they turn out. The one I posted yesterday and this last one. Believe me he may not look like much but it's surprising just how quick those little legs move. Lol he was actually one of the first birds I had to pen. I still say long legs ain't always the best in close, although midgets might not be the best either haha

Gonna attempt talking to dad about AGBs, may be able to win him over. :fl the biggest fight will be dubbing, which is ironic since we disbud goats each year I see no difference.

I know perhaps not exactly American Game but it'll be a start :p

Stupid autocorrect!
