Anybody else have experience with putting birds on about 4" or so inches of peas gravel?

Not here. I have three pen with birds on 3" size gravel for more than a year. That is being corrected by putting down hay. Great drainage but birds have no place to stand that does not suck heat from their feet.

And dust bathing is a problem which I think pea gravel will pose as well.

Too many pens shovel easily and have been through such snow events many times. Remember I do have some age on me and had birds pretty much the whole time. I am also coming from a background where forefathers with a lot more birds than I have that left snow in place so a little inertia on don't fix what is not broke.

Automatically, no.......................... It does imply opportunity to have learned from successes and failures of self and others.


A measure of it can come in form of what you can do with resources you have in place.

man u just need to know how to cook mergansers.
First de breast and rinse and set aside. Then batter a steak and fry it than make a milk gravy with the steak oil (lots of black pepper) get a glass of sweet tea (lots of ice) pour the gravy over the steak and enjoy
