You gonna be wishing for these days back when she gets about 17 or so believe that

Some things will be gladly behind me. Most notably this business of ice skating. My first try at it was Monday with three tries of it as of yesterday. I hurt from both effort and impacts. Considerable pain also comes from being lapped by 5 year old son and out distanced by the 3 year old daughter. The kids will be expected to help me with birds so good times ahead there.

Pride and pain to be sure.

Excellent! I feel sorry for you not having extremely low temperatures to preserve eggs by freezing. Or needing supplemental light to get egg production. I am two months away fro eggs in appreciable numbers.

She's just laying cause she's a pullet. None of my hens are laying prolly won't till the middle of Feb. Just so happens the pullets are the ones I need chicks from.

My pullets will not be in lay till late February. Hens shortly after that. That means for me first hatches as usually not due till early April. The odd pullet in lay now is not worth mentioning when all could be loss with a hard freeze.
