I was watching a local special last night titled: Louisiana comprehensive master plan for a sustainable coast. And if the scientists predictions are correct I am currently sitting at the bottom of a lake in 50yrs. If nothings done. So u got that long after that don't know where I'll be.

The loss of land is staggering. And its a catch 22. More levees to keep out flood water, but the levees don't let the sentiment in from the would be floods to feed the marsh so it's eroding.

At some point, for the much the same reason, they will need to provide services provided by the port of New Orleans somewhere west. Cost of maintaining levees will dictate it. Are you in some way west of New Orleans?

I just put about 30 young games out of ground for a little time out of those darn pens. They are having a blast and getting into trouble but hens and dom cock are breaking up the serious stuff before it gets serious. They doing the dust bathing bit in a big way.

No exactly 12 miles north on the shore of lake ponchatrain. I go to the port once monthly with work and with its location it'll be one of the last inhabited areas. The area of " ports America " proper is quite High. Most of the port area where the gantry cranes are and the road and rail are concrete and steel over the Mississippi river not on actual ground and it's connected directly to an elevated roadway out the city. Other places would be long gone before the port "needed" to be moved.

My understaning is the Mississippi want to divert straight south somewhere around Baton Rouge or even north of there. That would really choke of the supply of sediments for New Orleans and the areas downstream.
