Ended up with about 7-8 inches. Free range birds are a real problem. Sitting in the trees while a hawk harasses them.
Survival of the fittest in extreme weather I guess. Me and the ol birds are feeling pretty fit today though.
Feels like -1 today temp is about 10.
Must have rode one of my shotguns hard and put it away wet cause the action was froze open. Had to resort to my back up.

What kind of hawk is harassing them? What is hawk doing? Mine are interacting with a Coopers everyday in the barn. Adults dominate it. Small juveniles in pen vulnerable unless adults close by.

No matter how much we feed the outside cat it keeps getting skinnier.

Coopers and a red tail is hanging around now

Yes but I'd rather shoot it I don't want her tangling with possible disease ridden animals. If she would just bark but I know she'd go after it. Anyway it was cold and damp outside and she would rather stay inside on her ottoman.

Red-tails my birds do not want to mess with unless it is on the ground. Are you seeing clearly what is going on?

Red-tails here can't work because dogs get on them too much. Before dogs, it was pretty interesting. A favorite game around house actually flew vertically up 18' to powerline to face hawk off. A Ferruginous Hawk was my problem as that bassturd was able to take out most of my jungle fowl and even a couple American Dominique bullstags. Did not loose a single game to that hawk as the games new how to use the cover.

My dogs like to go out slogging in the nasty, catch, kill, then bring sloppered on carcass into house so I can step on it at foot of bed. Stepping on carcass with bear feet is not pleasant. I assumed my raccoons are in good health as most appear to be.

Ha, question. What bird of pray is about guess 4-5' wing span bright orange beak, seems mostly dark brown or black and looks like its lighter on it underside flying over almost a grey or something. Yeah I know kinda vague.
