any other reason the more vertical winged birds fly better?
I look at wing length more than position...

I noticed the position changes based on their attitude at the moment. If they real ****** or ready to go, I noticed its more vertical (IMO and observations).

I also look for wing tuckage and shape. I think it looks crappy when they dont hold it together tightly, and I hate seeing rounded/blunt wing tips.

My profile picture is a good example of tight, sharp and long wing... amazing flyer for his size, but you can see it isnt vertical, more angled back.

Hey flypen. You asked awhile back to post my ruble. Here he is. Disregard the feathers on his neck. Stupid chicken wire over welded wire and him reaching out for grass. I've since fixed the issue.
