Most useful feathers on a chicken whether it's a hen or a rooster is the cape and saddle. The body feathers don't have as many uses. It's easier with a duck or a game bird. Cut the head off, cut from the neck down to the vent, cut around vent and pull the skin free opening like a book. When you get to the wings cut the bone or break it off to free the wings from the carcass. Just keep pulling the skin free, flip over onto the belly and keep doing the same cutting where you have to but you can just pull it free. Skin on a chicken is really thin, just have to be careful not to rip it as you go. As for completely skinning a chicken it's easier to use a scalpel for the head to free the cape just cut along the feather line when it's free you can trim what little skin is left around the v of the cape.how do you skin a chicken? I've watched a few videos and the people I've seen do it just rip it to shreds they obviously don't care about the quality of the skin/feathers I was wondering if you knew a way to pull it off in one clean piece like a rabbit
