I fish exclusively mirrolure or matrix shad. More so mirrolure I much prefer top water that's why I need to get them flies out there

Oct, Nov would be good. We should swing by flypen so he can show us how it's done lol

Yeah those topwater gurglers work good. I'll send u some more. I mainly use Texas rigged soft plastics with the spinning rod. Missile baits d bomb, destroyer and Yamamoto fat Ika tubes Texas rigged backwards. If you haven't tried those fat ika tubes your missing out. They get bites all the time.

Regular ol lizards, brush hogs and just about any creature bait works for me though. I like the missile brand best though, as long as you don't mind the smell of anise oil.

Would be pretty cool to all get together and do some fishing. Oct, nov should be fine. Whenever you set it in stone I'll take the same week. Just let me know.

Freshwater it's buzzbait or worm. Guess I could diversify a lil.
Just be forewarned all those shows about Louisiana folk on them cable channels, well it may be kinda true lol

I just watched some video of some guy in the gulf coast flyfishing for flounder/fluke. He put some kind of scent on the fly??? What the h*ll? That absolutely defeats the purpose. Might as well just use bait. (Nothing wrong with it)Take the time to tie your own fly and then make it smell like live bait is the d*mn dumbest thing I've ever seen in my life. Make it harder by using a fly rod and then make it easier by using scent.

In that case it would be easier to just use a regular rod and lure. Without spending all the $$ on fly gear.

Yeah I think it's more of an incidental catch while fly fishing for stripers, bluefish and weakfish around here.
Flounder is one of the few fish i like to eat so I may see if I can catch some.
