Had some extra time so I made me some lures. I keep them in those bags to keep them in the juice

I have been practicing with the fly rod I don't really know what's considered a decent distance but I'm getting the flies just over 600'

Nah I use soft plastics on a spinning rod sometimes. I don't buy them in the liquid though since he likes to play with em. 600 ft ?? Most fly lines are right at 100 ft so that takes some serious skill.

Got the eyewear my co that I am an employee of is a wiley x distributor. All u know what aside it seems like it's all in the forearm. And since I have no prior experience I don't have to break the false casts habits. I am using a cheap popper that I cut the hook off to practice

wear them glasses just in case. I've never been hit in the face with a fly but I've hooked myself a few times, not bad but still a hook in the back of the arm doesn't feel too special.
The most important thing with casting a fly rod is to "pretend your wrist is locked onto the rod handle" don't bend your wrist at all, just move your arm back and forth. Practice makes perfect. It's kinda unnatural to not bend your wrist but you'll see why. Your line will start going crazy behind you instead of throwing tight loops. There are lots of YouTube videos that will help but nothing like actually casting yourself. Weighted flies especially those with lead dumbbell eyes don't cast very well unless using heavy fly lines and stiffer rods. It's just a matter of chucking and ducking.

Wiley x makes some good glasses. I wore them in the army. The polarized copper lenses are very good.
