Even the 700r4 is a better transmisson not by much but still yet.

In defense there is a handfull of guys who can build the 4l60e properly for power and they last but you are talking 3k plus for starters not including if you have to pay for labor.
 
If its got the 4l60e thats the reason need to go with the 80. Or chasse after the majestic built 60 which is just a hit or miss.
yep thats it... My engine is built a little, and I have posi rear end, so maybe 80 would be better. (does it fit with adapters? or direct replacement?)
 
What years your truck? Mines an 02 so so probably a bit diffrent i know on mine yokes need cut different u-joints an nic nacks.

But doing it once is alot easier than multiple times.
 
If this keeps up I'm gonna have to visit one of those count to whatever threads
