Thank you JShubin, I definitely got some awesome broodfowl to pick from this year. All the Greys with red shoulders are crosses that will be shipped to a new home for showing. I had a guy pick up 8 last weekend but not broodfowl.
 
What is it about molting that makes the birds so flighty? Do they know they are more vulnerable to predators? I don't even like to touch the birds during molt as it really seems to be stressful.
 
I think it is a mechanism to protect incoming feathers that are delicate. They can be more testy and peckish too.

I moved a couple cocks in with pullets to create some very late broods. The cocks entering heavy molt are much slower to court hens.
