Yeah i use my ruger american 270 my wifes uses her rem700 bdl 270, but i use mine for paper too. And thanks.
I have a shooting range for a neighbor. They have 300 + acres. I can shoot there for free but I just ain't into guns like that. I don't find it that exciting. I'll sight in guns with new ammo but that's about it. I mainly duck hunt so I'll shoot paper targets and clays occasionally but that's about it.

I was in a training unit in the Army so I have spent a lot of time running ranges. Shooting 203 grenade launchers, m249 SAW, M60 and M240 machine guns are fun though. I watched a guy smash his face all to hell and back shooting an m60. Gotta hold on tight. Lol

AR 15s and similar guns just don't do it for me. I like to hunt not look like chuck Norris in delta force putting the sneak on a deer. Lol
For the house an AR is good but a shotgun is better. I think people look ridiculous hunting with them. If you can't hit a game animal with them at 300 yds you got no business owning it. Lol

Thats really cool. I wish I had weapons training like that. fire fight/combat training would be extremely interesting to learn and practice too.
I learned knife and stick fighting from a Filipino trained/American military instructor, but I cant hit the side of barn with a pistol.

I got news for you. Most people can't. Pistols aren't all that accurate. Somebody will get on here and say different but they really aren't. That's why shotguns are much better for home defense. 3am in your drawers you hear a noise in your house. You ain't missing with a 12 gauge. Not too mention the sound of racking a 12 gauge should spark fear in just about anybody.

I never imagined them as a hunting rifle.. look very urban combat-ish. Id bet on shotgun as well for home protection. I still need one.

Actually alot of that stuff gets boring just like anything else. Throwing grenades will give you a headache you won't soon forget. I was a gunner on a Bradley fighting vehicle for awhile. Shooting a 25mm cannon is good fun. Standing alongside that thing for hours will rattle your teeth loose. To be clear I never served in any combat just at Ft benning, GA and S. Korea. Did go to airborne school too. That's about it though.

I had a slot to go to ranger school after airborne school. I got orders for Korea and they pulled my slot and sent me to Korea instead. I begged them to change my orders so I could go to ranger school first. They wouldn't budge. Instead they sent 3 other guys. 2 failed and 1 made it. I was so pissed off I wouldn't reenlist. Got out from Korea.
