They will never be able to protect against attacks/shootings like this. The cost, time, planning etc.. would be so much that a show of any kind wouldn't be worth putting on. Individual citizens must be allowed to protect themselves wherever they go. They will hash this out forever and in the end the guy was a nut job plain and simple.
This is a classic example of where everyone relies on the police yet they did nothing to prevent it. How could they have? Free countries are always dangerous.

There have been plenty of nutjobs over time. Serial killers for example planned everything while living a pretty normal life with their own families. There is absolutely no possible way to stop this kind of stuff without taking away all the rights we have that make living here so great.

I agree to an extent. Banning certain guns won't stop it though. That's just a feel good measure. I am not particularly interested in any type of "military gun" however it's not hard to build your own, file the firing pin, build your own bump stock etc.. That line of thinking may stop the absolutely batshit crazy people but not guys like this. All the planning and money that was involved it's doubtful.

It's more of society type problem. People have become sheeple in their daily lives. They do and say what others want them to do They act in such a way that acceptable to the masses around them. It helps them get by, earn a living and otherwise stay alive if not thrive. Eventually these people snap. They're so thoroughly pissed off at life they don't care anymore. Imo they need hobbies. Guns not being a particularly good choice. I personally don't see the fascination with guns except for shotguns. They do all the work. Sight in, load, pull trigger. To each their own.
Overall I believe this kinda stuff is just the beginning and there's nothing anyone can do about it except longstanding change in society.

There is nothing in the Constitution restricting people from owning "Attack Weapons." Many ar15's are used for sporting. Eliminating them doesn't stop the problem.

People are the problem. Crazy or not, it takes a person to shoot someone else. The gun is just a tool. Look at Chicago. Toughest gun laws in the nation. What have those laws done to help the problem?

Any type of firearm restriction only hurts the law abiding citizens. Criminals do not care about laws.
