There is nothing in the Constitution restricting people from owning "Attack Weapons." Many ar15's are used for sporting. Eliminating them doesn't stop the problem.

People are the problem. Crazy or not, it takes a person to shoot someone else. The gun is just a tool. Look at Chicago. Toughest gun laws in the nation. What have those laws done to help the problem?

Any type of firearm restriction only hurts the law abiding citizens. Criminals do not care about laws.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. I am not afraid to say it though. Without modified military style weapons there is no way he could have done what he did. That's a fact. Bombs and other ways obviously he could have.
The real reason people want these kinds of guns is the fact that law enforcement all started using them first. The idea of protecting yourself from your own government is solid. That's the only argument that holds up. AR-15 rifles while legal to hunt with in many places sure don't look like sporting arms to the sheeple. Good luck convincing them cause if you can't it's over.

I think the justification for attack weapons is the idea that citizens should be able to protect against a tyrannical government...

disarmament of citizens is for sheeple, tyrannical governments and Utopian thinkers.

I have no solutions for stopping people like that idiot, other than major society changes like Havoc said.

There is major historical evidence and knowledge on the collapse of empires... and we are repeating the same mistakes and suffering the same symptoms.. IMO.. from what I read and ponder.

If the Semi auto rifles were outlawed 5 years ago, do you really think this would have been different?

The guy was motivated and planned to kill a bunch of people. I think he had the means to get those rifles off the black market if he wanted to, but a bomb/s, are certainly not out of the realm of possibility. He had the explosives in his vehicle. Neither is driving a tractor trailer right through the crowd.

So I do agree that those rifles helped him, but I do argue that he would have gotten them even if they were illegal. Or found another way to do it.

Nope. I agree it wouldn't have stopped him nor should they be outlawed. I'm just saying he couldn't have done it without that type gun. Determined people are just that. Nothing will stop them.

You give the left a bone, and the next thing you know we have statues being removed without public approval for $300,000, paint rainbow crosswalks without public approval for $20,000, and HS names changed without public approval then the same School District announces no teacher raises this year due to lack of funds because of the name change.

Your elected officials are the very same dumbasses you see in traffic, at the store, etc.. they are no better than anyone else. Once in those positions the game changes and money, favors, friendships etc.. are the norm and we all suffer. Kind of like the big rich republicans that want to open up what's left of the true wilderness to drilling, fracking, building roads etc.. half of these guys hunt but don't give a rats ass whether the general public suffers from access and quality of the land. Money and clout clouds their judgement. They either fail to see the long term affects of their actions or they figure they'll be gone and rich by the time anything negative happens.
