I think they add oil of some sort to give it that color/gloss. I've only seen it on dressed up birds ready for photo shoot.

Yes my parent's neighbor is one of them old school Mexican American. I acquired my original broodfowl from him. He owns multiple properties, businesses and hundreds of gamefowl.

I know tons of new school Mexicans too. lol I even understand Spanish decently. No hablo bueno pero yo entiendo mucho.

Ya... they didnt show up in magazines and name fowl after themselves.
Cuban/Puerto Rican/Spanish fowl have names and cockers attached to them... I have some Jerezano fowl gifted from an old school Cuban guy I met and befriended.
