Restricting feed to make em smaller seems counterproductive to me. To make weight I get but that will only hurt the health if it’s not in the genes to make him smaller by nature.

Birds born later in the year has no effect on station or size as long as the hens laying the eggs are perfectly healthy. Birds probably run smaller if left to free range late in the year when there is less grass, bugs, rain etc...

ya its tragic. I dont like them dying, and try to make sure they dont. But life is what it is and I just try to keep going forward.

I have breeding and watching my gamefowl die for 10 years now. Im still learning and trying things out. But im still young so I got another 50+ years of this.
getting rid of the dogs would cure about 95% of your problems

There’s a lot of hokus pokus surrounding gamefowl. Usually there’s an actual reason for an outcome not just hearsay. For example birds hatched around August this year would have fared far better than last year because I’ve had a lot more rain and mild temps this year which resulted in plenty of grass and bugs.

There are quite a few big poultry growers that get consistent results throughout the year by changing whatever they need to while keeping everything similar with feed, light, water etc..
