I do not have another white kelso to go with him. He had one in his other yard and two in some buddies but he said i could get one next springs hatch.
He is pen'd with if I recall I'd have to check my note book 3/4 Gilmore 1/4 hulsey.

Hi newbie here- it’s fun to see pics of all these beauties! Two months ago this injured and tail-less scrawny bird joined our family. We are new to raising chickens and have no idea what she is other than we are told she is a “game hen”. We love her but she pretty much hates us unless we’re on the outside of her pen bearing treats through the wire. :) We call her Crazy Betty, she’s very vocal and screams almost like a rooster every morning for for an hour when she gets up (I think our neighbors hate us now) :( if you have a suggestion on a good gamefowl feed recipe pls pass that on- I make a mix but she doesn’t eat the wheat or oats but she sure loves the sunflower seeds and corn. She also absolutely loves grubs and worms too, but not into veggies or fruit really. She is so picky!!! We are also looking to find her some friends. Thanks for any advice

Lmljsl someone once told me black streaks in the red hackles mean something and it's considered a fault for show. Do you know anything about that?

That's a lot of feed on the ground looks like you need to let her clean it up more. If she's hungry she'd eat the pellets.

I'd clean all that out and start with fresh feed and make sure she cleans it all before dumping more.

It is considered a fault for showing BBR birds, but I am not sure about any impact on physical performance. Many BBR show lines have a male and female line because they are breeding for two opposed colors, the black and red. A solid black breast in the male bleeds over in to red areas. And really red areas bleed into the black. It has been a long time, but I think the really red males with red in their breast make for nice coloring in the females. I could have it backwards though...
