Interesting, been using a fine toothed saw on mine without making them bleed.

The bleeding comes from how close they are trimmed to the inner core of the spur. You can twist spurs off and see a small "fleshy" spur that will regrow another outer covering, the spur.

Dremel doesn’t make them bleed either. No torquing them. Eventually with them you’ll splinter a few. Works just fine though I suppose.

I’ve done it with pliers. Not the best for gamefowl though. After that hull comes off it’s easily damaged for awhile plus then they grow back like needles.

The cold has brought them closer ha.
Use a dremel like havoc said faster, cleaner, easier.

Just to keep the point off I'll use cutters, for an exact measurement a friend has a 2x4 with a v cut out in one end with a cut in it I think it's 1/2 or 5/8 from the end and we use a coping saw. Fit sockets perfect back in the day
