How far do they range down there?I have piddled around very close to you and areas like that did not seem to have good forage. When forage is poor they go a good ways like mine to when walked on glades. When we walked them on old strip mine spoils covered by pines they ranged better than 1/4 mile.

If they are from where I think it is only about 2 acres away.

There’s a lot of people in these parts with game chickens

We never had a large number of game fowl keepers in our area, but had several walks around a county block (1 square mile) where walks ideally where at least 1000' apart. Drift was not a big deal with the brood fowl, but later in the season young birds could be a problem if flocks disturbed by a dog or a fence row was bushy enough to entice birds to walk further along it.

I had fun keeping walks closer but had to have a bushy fence to be a territory boundary or ranging areas were in opposite directions from roost as promoted by cover and other resources. Still, each flock had to have a few acres centered on the roost or trouble was likely.

There’s a few running loose that I know of (the ones by me not some of them) like literally 3 or 4 stags and pullets 99.9% are penned from hatch. There’s too many predators here by the refuge
