Perception is reality to most people. It’s the way it works nowadays. Nothing wrong with bucking the trends but don’t complain when you get judged differently.
IMO many people try so hard to stand out in the crowd instead of just being themselves. In reality your fitting directly into the opposite stereotype.

Instead of being viewed as this guy is an individual it’s more likely to be viewed as a guy who is actually trying real hard to not fit in on purpose.

Get well SOHC-FTW.

On pits the problem is they became a popular breed for idiots to own... when I was a kid there where two people I knew who had pits, now they are everywhere and often they have idiot owners, who do not care for or train them properly. Problem two people assume aggression when there is none, I have watched people scream vicious dog at a dog waging his tail or barking and running from them... idiots that don’t know dog body language are huge in cities. Every pit I have met has been sweet natured goofs it’s their owners who are failing. Before pits were the evil breed it was Dobermans and before them German Shepherds becuase of idiot owners and in some cases bad breeding. Most folks don’t know but there is one line of Golden Retrievers notorious for going nuts and mauling people, it’s genetic and responsible breeders have stoped breeding that line but the line persists, and yes a crazy GR can kill a human.

As to the Philippine operations, they got some huge farms, but farms do do things differently... some battery cage others do not. I just watched one farm explain they breed their roosters not daily but on a very specific schedule to keep sperm count high... they don’t AI it but they bring hens to the rooster for the mating on a one on one and then remove that hen. They also discussed average hen lay rates to stag goals... the goal being 10 stags per hen... they broke the math down to average fertility is 45 eggs layed during 3 the breeding season, on average 5 eggs are infertile, that leaves 40 good eggs, assuming all were to hatch and law of averages in a big operation 20 boys, 20 girls but individual hens and years may result in more or less, than you assume not all chicks will survive so subtract 5 = 15 potential live stags, if all are awesome boys great but assume you will have to cull some so subtract another 5 thus a goal of 10 stags per hen. This is of course about profits too, more stags bred more opurtunity in that market for profit. The point I think was setting goals in chick production if you planned to breed and not go broke for their viewers and customers. Also of interest was the discussion on how fat hens lay less and this is the down side to battery breeding, the farm I was watching the show on has range pens for their hens to avoid that. However they did go through a bunch of suggestions on how to get a hen back to a healthy weight if you lack the space to free range. I always learn something watching these foreign shows on chickens though some countries are easier for me to understand than others... a lot can be applied to really any chicken breed and seeing different ideas is always fun for me.

Take care folks.
