I do not know about leghorns, but most breeds where feather sexing or color are not at play, then vent sexing used.

True, I forgot you have some hatcheries out your way that ship fancy chicks. Vent sexing works for all of the folks that only want pullets. Perhaps some day the hatcheries will catch on to sexing eggs... Why waste the incubator space on the male eggs?

Savior the time it seems like yesterday my daughter was learning to walk and she graduates high school in a few months then to med school. She’s one of 10 of the seniors picked to go to LSU next week and shadow doctors

The Internet says it’s does not work... but... but...

I used to watch the Vietnamese choose birds using the bottom method, little old farm ladies... and they swore by it, so I had them explain it to me... so far it did work for me when I have been allowed to do it when choosing chicks. I suspect there are reasons it does not 100% work... I would need a bigger pool of chicks to disprove or prove the images. But when I was allowed to do it all pullets... only rooster chick we ever got was a gift and not chosen by me.

So I have mixed thoughts, so many have failed at it, but it worked for me & the old ladies.

I decided it is an interesting behavior test though at minimum... chicks that don’t limp right away got spunk at least.

Since I cannot breed here, I can’t properly test it though.

I just have a tv and a DVD player. It's and earlier 90s movie anyhow.

We hope to get some sort of tv or Netflix or something.

Netflix is great!
I highly recommend it.
Especially if one doesn't have "regular" tv or cable service.
