Incubation cycle not yet started. Eggs damage by freezing when temperature drops below 27 F.
Will they tolerate down to 27 degrees? I get nervous around 33-34... But if you are sure 27 works, it will save me some trips. I pick up eggs at dark and put them back when the temp comes up.

I have been forced to test down that low when it is realized around dawn for a only a short period of time before warming back up above freezing. I have had numerous clutches exposed to near freezing temperatures nightly for almost two weeks before hen commences broody cycle, yet get good hatch percentage.

Wonder how many ruble flypen ended up with
I started with the 4 eggs, 3 of them candled good on day 8. I candled them again on day 18 when I locked them down to hatch and only 2 had developed properly. 2 Rubles hatched, the eggs were from 3 pens and the 2 that hatched were from the same pen. Just my luck but I'm happy to have them. I hope that they are not both pullets.

Sure is a strong word especially with breeding. I wouldn't do it but that's just me
