@flypen, doing anything special during your camp out? I have done it a few times.

Nothing special, just hope I can find him before he gets another one.

I sleep on porch with boots on in a hammock with spot light and rifle. Then listen. With owl, most of time chickens will give alarms even when owl still in tree.

I heard an owl will rip the wings off and take the rest of the carcass.
a couple years ago, I had a little pullet disappear, she roosted on a bracket that holds the chimney, about 7 feet off the ground, I found the wings on the ground, right under her roost. I don't know if it was an owl that got her, just assuming.
I don't know if an owl could do that with an adult cockbird.
those predators really p me off.

I have a possum in my yard right now. He’s eating what ever left over scratch I throw the loose birds.
Disclaimer: this is probably the worst pic you will see me post but it’s dark out.

I ain’t wasting a $5 shell on him. I’ve got 15 birds in the tree 20 ft away from him. Ha ain’t bothering a thing.

The only problem I've had from a possum would be cleaning out a nest of eggs.

This looks to be a very good feed!! How do your birds do with the high content of milo, I feel like the quality of the other grains and seeds off-set the milo(I'm no expert on grains or seeds), I might be giving milo a bad rap based only on what I've heard and read.

So far I haven't had any problems with it, I have noticed that some of the Milo is left on the ground where I feed the free range birds but the next morning they come back through and clean it up. I've been very happy with Big V Feeds, maintenance, starter, scratch, and lay pellets, very little dust in anything I buy from them. That means a lot to me.

That rooster beat the hell out my Ancona hen. Found her all bloody. Couldn’t figure out what happened to her. Thought one of my loose game hens messed her up but couldn’t find any evidence of another hen that had any damage. I cleaned her up and turned her loose. 10 minutes later I was replacing a pen roof and saw him standing on top of her pecking her head. He pecked her eye out! He was alive for about 3 more minutes.
