Exactly the reason why I don't care for spurred hens, they do break eggs occasionally. The hen that got me when the snake got her chick has spurs, she put a hole in my leg. Lol
Man I'm over here proud as hell of my double spurred hatch pullet and now I'm like oh crap lol

I have a few hens that don't tolerate chicks passing through their pens. I have a extra layer of chicken wire wrapped around their pens.
Oh no I mean their own chicks. Yeah I’ve lost a few that way. I wrap em all in chicken wire to keep them in too.

Just pick up her eggs everyday or at least every other day and you want find egg yoke all over the other eggs.
My Radio Hens with the Grey have been busting eggs left and right. Out of 3 clutches I've only got 12 chicks. This is the first year this has happened too. They're not even spurred. I started upping their calcium intake every since the 2nd incident thinking maybe they're low on calcium producing delicate eggs or something. Been 3 weeks and so far so good.

10 out of the incubator, 3 still in it drying off, and one egg left to hatch.

And here I really like the looks of spurred hens, but seldom get them! I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.
