I got 8 kelso/Gilmore in bator, 6 living chicks from my white kelso pair and the black hen is sitting going two weeks give or take now. Just moved her fella to his own pen and he hasn't stopped calling her yet.

By which foraging behaviours?
My areas have a lot of microhabits with lots of different forage types and enough to allow me to raise some birds with not use of feed at all. The chickens have some rather varied systems for getting the feed and do a lot of talking to each other while doing it. They can be smart like crows if allowed toe wrestle up their own grubs.

I can't Imagine all the benefits these game get from free ranging in natural wildlife.

Lots of benefits to be sure, but I am not able to do it like we used to just a couple decades back when the bulk of breeding was done on walks. I used to make fun of people doing what I have to do now because they had to do so much work to raise birds that were less than mine simply because their rearing conditions were not optimal plus cost a lot more.

I let mine out early.
