Supposed to be a mug. Three years old and solid. Really good natured.

Is she a mini? She must be good natured considering her molt.

She appears to be on lower end of standard. She weighs just over 4 lbs.

A bit big for a mini but a start. She looked smaller to me.

My hands are big and taking photographs like that makes things look small.

I like the mini hens to be about 2 pounds or a little over.

I have not seen mini's in person.

Hen was acquired at an animal swap at Jacob's Cave. I encountered at least half dozen guys peddling only game fowl.

I am doing to breed her to a brown-breasted brown red to see if darker version of red quill pops. Offspring of that will be bred to offspring of the dom crosses that carry forward barring and white legs. End product should involve some proper dom colored birds that might not be disqualified for show.

Do you shoot them? Gotta be careful with skunks. The skunk essence they release is an attractant to all canines. I’m not sure what it’s like where you live but I shot a skunk one night and it obviously sprayed. Figured I would just grab it in the morning. That skunk was gone in the morning!
Fox and coyote will drag em off. Great horned owls will eat them too. Just something to keep in mind.
