One of the best advantages of fly fishing is a missed take. If a bass strikes but misses with a spinning rod you have to reel all the way in and then cast again which usually results in nothing. With a fly rod you can pick up the fly and put it right back in the same spot within a second or two.I've always wanted to try fly fishing just looks like alot of work when I can catch them with a rooster tail. I ain't caught a blue all year, it's a little sad
I do shoot them but I throw the in the ditch across the main road at the house. These was young enough they didn't spray and a .22 made short work of them. Thanks for the heads up though. It's a good future noteDo you shoot them? Gotta be careful with skunks. The skunk essence they release is an attractant to all canines. I’m not sure what it’s like where you live but I shot a skunk one night and it obviously sprayed. Figured I would just grab it in the morning. That skunk was gone in the morning!
Fox and coyote will drag em off. Great horned owls will eat them too. Just something to keep in mind.
If you have a lot of skunks you can use a syringe and drain the scent glands on either side of the anus. Just stick the needle in and pull back. Transfer into another glass bottle with a plastic lid. The pure skunk quill is worth over $20 an ounce. Just don’t spill it. Pure stuff don’t smell the same as when they spray. Lol it’ll give you a headache and make you puke. Your pitching money in that ditch.I do shoot them but I throw the in the ditch across the main road at the house. These was young enough they didn't spray and a .22 made short work of them.
