He is off my dark line red quill. The black biddies come out like that and get there color at about 8months to a year

From the looks of that stag bud you’ve got plenty of brown/red black in them.

Yea that's why I got 2stags and 4pullets off a light line of red quill to blend in mine this spring.

Mine got huge, went into flower... then fell over because gopher ate roots all the way up to trunk.
