Not during keep, just to keep them as active as possibleFor what purpose?
I like to just for their mental sake. How often do yal rotate your roosters to a different pen
Is that just as good as rotating them to a different penYou can move pens to fresh ground and give new view to freshen outlooks.
Usually whenever I take birds out to put on cords I put them back in different pens. I only do it when I have time to watch them because some don’t like their new neighbor much. I also have hens running loose in between pens at all times. Not during keep, just to keep them as active as possible
But how often?I like to just for their mental sake.
I figure if they have change of environment and different stimulation, adapting to new location, testing new neighbors, they are happier.
Not often enough in my case... I would think once a month should be plenty.. more birds the harder it is..But how often?
This time of year and threw winter I leave for work befor dark and get home when it's dark so my wife's and son feed and water. I still go check on them all even if there's bad weather. The weekend is when I use tie cords but that's only if the weather is dry because I don't like a wet bird when it's cold. Is every two weeks enough?Usually whenever I take birds out to put on cords I put them back in different pens. I only do it when I have time to watch them because some don’t like their new neighbor much. I also have hens running loose in between pens at all times.
I think it is closer to the ideal option, but requires more ground. Moving pens allows ground to rest keeping birds from having to walk about on manure, wet or dry. It is easier for me to do because moving birds between pens can require more handling that involves getting dirty. Is that just as good as rotating them to a different pen
