I just hope some ducks have come far enough south. I can always shoot hooded mergansers but they taste like absolute sh*t. I don’t shoot them anymore.

Well what the hell are you waiting for? Buy a federal duck stamp at the post office, state watefowl stamp and some decoys. Duck hunting is fun when it all works out. When it doesn’t, well it flat out sucks.
