Yes, do you think I did right by culling this one?

Aww, you should've kept that one! It's green but I see no sheen...

I want to start hatching again towards the end of August too, we haven't had much heat here though, I actually just unplugged a heat lamp from some grow outs living outdoors a few weeks ago. It's been in the low 50s most nights.

That's what I thought, too! You see the ratios though? Hahaha, only 1 in 32, approx. Oh well, I will have lots of hatching to do, and will surely have tons of grow outs in the processing pen.

Another good thing about being barred buff.. You won't notice as much when they decide to "dust bath" in the driveway. I put a sand box out for mine.. but noooooo.. gotta use anything else but..
Mine are dirt magnets.

Something like this guy?... Barred buff columbian... not one of my birds..

The girls I am using in my cross are Del x Blue Barred Rock. They aren't huge birds or anything, but they are super friendly. Great layers. The chicks feather in and seem to reach the "mischievous" stage much sooner than my other breeds. They're always the escape artists.

Pretty there bt2000

HappyMtn those girls look sorta like some I hatched out last year from a Blue Barred male over some Buff hens, very interesting combo you have there, good luck on the project

I am awaiting cooler weather along with Mrs. Kathy also to begin hatching out F2's and also needing the cooler weather so I can get out there and finish up my breeding paddocks its just way too hot now for any type of constrution in the afternoons down here in the DEEP sultrey south, temps are getting into the low hundreds with humidity levels in the eighties and nineties makes for very uncomfortable heat indices.

Oh Mrs. Kathy on your comment on where some might NOT consider spending their time in the after-life, I don't know about that one atleast it would be just hot with low humidity because of the fires a burning, naw I'm just kidding its not that hot here in LA (louisiana that is) but darn near-it. It rained here the other day for about 15 minutes or so, I looked over at my rain guage and saw some water in it and I went to go see just how much it rained, heck it all evaporated before I got over there close enough to read it, now that's hot

The picture of the Barred Buff Brahma is gogeous, that would definitely be a great side Del project to start working on if you could get them out of the F2 crosses.
