Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Quote:
This guy has already been selected as a "Keeper", his constant stalking reaffirms my decision. I haven't had any problems with any delaware cockerels yet. It makes me very fond of the breed when I have such friendly roosters. I have two other older delaware roosters and they refuse to eat their treats off the ground. They stand at my feet and patiently wait for me to hand feed them their treats. These are some seriously spoiled momma 's boys! All their ladies eat the treats where ever they are thrown, but the roosters stand right at my feet looking up at me waiting for their SPECIAL hand fed treats LOL.

SPOILED!

That cockerel has great width between the legs, Laura! Looks like a nice breast there, too. Got that barn buildin' going pretty well. Next season I will be working on the paint job. Well, that and the pinched tails I still get.

My roo from Kathy has a similar stance, it delights me! I can't wait for spring to start hatching.

Yeah, what to do about those pinched tails - Grr!!!!!!

Rebel- how old are they again? They look like they have great color in that shot.

Thanks Beth, The roo. will be 5 months on the 7th of next month & the little pullet will be 4 months around the same date. I think there color is comming around great, the little pullet is a lot heaver than she looks, she is solid as a rock.

I have two 28 week old Delaware roosters that are getting ready to go into the freezer...unless someone wants them. I will be going to Crossroads on Saturday and coupld bring them. They would be my 5th and 6th best (according to my own eye) out of the 11 original roos I started with. They were about six and a half pounds 26 weeks. If there is any interest, I can take pictures and post them on here. I'd sell them for $10 each.

Edit to add: They are originally from Paul Harter - Missouri
