Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

I wanted to show you guys the progress on the blue-tailed del project. We had a nasty bout of cocci in one of the brooders a couple months agao and I had to start all over. All the girls that I kept are normal (black), but I think in the f2s using this guy I will hopefully get some girls so I can see what they look like. I believe they are all great nieces and nephews of Isaac.

Hate it when the eyes show up like that- creepy!

Amy, honestly I have not kept up with this, I am sorry. How are you doing it? I have one boy right now that is so light I would consider him blue, not black, so this is really interesting. Can you point me to a post where you explained it?
Its pretty darn cool!

Ha ha- well it kinda fell to the wayside after the cocci and I had to grow a bunch more out. I don't know if I didn't get any blue girls, or if I just accidentally sold them all.

So- it started with (Del roo) X (Del x Blue Barred Rock hens)
About 1/3 of the offspring look like really nice crisp barred rocks.
1/3 look like blue barred rocks.
1/3 are delaware pattern, and a few of those are blue instead of black.

So- if this guy remains blue (no black at all so far, but still not a full tail) and I breed him to normal del girls I should get some blues and some blacks.

Worst case scenario- I have a boatload of delawares!!!
