Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

While I am very happy with the birds, I have a lot of work to do with my Delawares before they would be considered anywhere close to SOP. I know that body/shape is where I have to begin, but I am curious as to whether everyone else is having problems with yellowing feathers in the roosters of this breed. I first believed it was a feed/environment issue with my birds, but as they age...and after talking to Walt at Crossroads...I am beginning to think that it is another color trying to pull through. So, does one look at something like that this early in the game...or do I still wait to paint until after I get the "barn built"?

This is my big boy. I like his size, he doesn't seem to have the 5 points on his comb and I think his tail barring should be more prominent but he's only 8 months old. He's got a little scab on his comb from a little tussle with another roo a week ago.

I let my 3 week olds out for the first time today. Wouldn't you know it, Not sure of the outside world, out of 15 RIR's, one NH and 3 Dels it was the little dellies that ventured out first.

I can officially join this thread! I picked up my first Deles last Saturday at the Sunshine Classic show in Lake City Fla. I got a Braden cockerel and 3 Holtman pullets. They are @16 weeks old and I have gotten 3 eggs already!! I really needed another breed, I really did!! .....stan

Delaware eggs are awesome, aren't they? Ellie's are humongous and Georgie's are super dark peachy tan.

Cyn,
Ellie's and Georgie's kids that I got from you are doing the same thing.
