Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

DeannaOR, love the pictures. The Delaware I had was buddied up with an EE, and they stuck together like glue. It's kind of funny that you say your Dellie is the mischievous one - I think mine was kind of like that, too. She was the bolder of the two, but not always the most independent girl. I sat there one time and watched her observe the EE scratching for yummies. She then tried to half-heartedly mimic the EE, gave up, and decided she'd just take whatever the EE had.

Buckhunter, those are some nice looking birds! I love the second picture, where she's looking at the camera like, "Who, me?"
Thanks

How old were your Delawares when you were sure of their sex? This year's birds are developing much faster than the Delawares I had last year, but I know I wasn't really sure until they all started to crow. I don't want to get my hopes up again this year. This little guy is only 6 weeks, but is definitely a boy.

I had a couple of pullets that I was certain one was a roo up to the age of 4 months. She just had a very developed comb and waddles for her age. Delawares can fool you for a while.

All the Roosters are gone! I might have a Australorp in another month to give away. Two of them are crowing but not 100 percent sure so gonna wait.

It is pretty bad when even the girls can be confusing. I love Delawares, but it drives me crazy waiting so long to know their sex.

I finally was able to get some Dels, they are on week 13 now. Just out of curiosity how old we're your Dels before they started to lay?
