Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

I might be able to help you. I have dels from Wade Rush, the genetics are from "Speckled hen" here on this forum and from an Amish farmer, so basically their " Ruahlane poultry " lines. He's since sold his dels to make room for his other projects. I can collect some eggs next week for ya and we can work something out id you want.

Shes a little dirty its been raining and the cockerel has dirty feet. I have 4 pullets I also have some heritage RIR pullets in with him. They are Roy Autrey lines out of Arkansas and I thought they will make some good " Indian river" type birds, even though true IR are dell over New Hampshire, my RIR are real meaty and shouldmake a great cross.

Lo all. Just wanted to introduce myself, Jesse McDaniel.

I've been raising delawares for about 8 years. My first one was a blue ribbon winner from the Texas State Fair. I've acquired a few more since then as well as hatched a few. I've been selling hatching eggs on e-bay under username jmcdan98. I was suprised and thrilled when I joined BYC to find my name on quite a few Delaware posts.

I saw a couple of posts questioning green legs. Yes, this was pointed out to me a couple of years ago. I am actually color blind so the green didn't stand out. That's really why I raise black and white chickens!! No, this was not something I bred in to the line to acquire a better Delaware. I try to breed to standard and I think they're perfect the way they are. I do still look for the green legs but have seen less and less of it in my hatchings since I was made aware (I have to get someone to check for me!!).

I've had many breeds. So far Delawares are the best by far and are the only breed I am currently breeding. I have recently acquired some Barred Hollands and I'll hopefully be able to get some at least close to standard so I can start working on them... :)

I just love chickens!!
Thx,
Jesse
