Quick building question.

Thought I would ask this tread as it is most frequented.

Is a 12X10 inch door opening enough for a Delaware? Man I hope so.

Yes - mine are 12 high but only about 9 wide - a lot of tote nest boxes are cut 8x9 opening but for the large Cock bigger is better but
12x10 should do the job for any of the large heritage fowl

Well I promised pics. LOL so here are pics of my 10 days short of 7 week olds. And let me tell you the roos already are seeing who is king of the yard. I don't mean chick chest bumping either. One even got a little blood drops around his face. I figure they will settle it.

That last picture reminds me of Eastland Mall in Charlotte. In it's twilight years, men - I loose that term loosely - would steal chairs from the food court and line them up near the main aisle way and 'judge' women as they went by. The chicken walking by even seems to have the same "go pee in the street" look all the women had. Anyway, your chicks look fantastic! Hopefully mine start to fill out real nice like that in another week or so.

That's funny. I contribute them being so full at this age for putting them outside at 2 weeks old. The sooner they are outside with no heat lamp the better I found with all breeds.

I'm guessing that's short for fermented feed? I need to read up on that. I've seen people rave about it and I'm a big believer in fermented, pre/probiotic foods for people.

I just do the hot water and ACV with the "mother". Very easy and can really tell the difference when they are getting feed with it. Plus since it is moist, they can't scratch it out of the bowl all over the ground. That's why I switched at first. Saves sooo much feed this way.
