Good morning, joletabey! I'm searching for a completely different bloodline than what I've got now. My birds came from Janet Holtman's stock...so speckledhen and I have the same lineage I believe. I'm trying to find something new to introduce to my program. My avatar is of my bantam Salmon Favorelle rooster "Sammy". I plan on starting up my bantam Favorelle breeding program in a couple of months....I'm really excited about them, too.

Shelly, I will be watching your Bantam SF line for sure. Once my move is over and we are settled in KY, I want a bantam line. I love my standard SFs and think the Roos are gorgeous so the bantams are a contender for the line along with the cochins. Sammy is gorgeous.

rwoman yes she is...check her Ultrasuede thread in What Gender or Breed is this....she sure did say she was gonna roonap him.

TY Cetawin. Right now, Sammy free ranges with my Delawares. Believe it or not, my big Delaware roo is a notch below Sammy in the pecking order!

It's quite a sight to see Prince (my Del roo) running from little Sammy.

I absolutely adore both of those breeds. I'm just so anxious to find some different Delaware eggs and hatch them....I WANT MORE DELLIES!

OK, fine, I am a thief wannabe, but right now, Dellie friends, I am a heartbroken one-

Superchick is dead. He got his neck broken this morning- I saw it happen - you know I've said they all play this weird leap frog game? Well, someone (not Buckshot, and not Cora) got a little too exuberant this morning as I was filling the feeder. Most of them were at the end I was at, bouncing around like they normally do., Buckshot and Cora right there trying to get my attention. Superchick was down on the end, I remember saying good morning to him, and he was giving me the stink eye for being late with breakfast.
Then I saw a blur as someone jumped toward him. I don't know if he moved in the way, or the "someone" miscalculated - they usually jump over each other. He went down with the saddest little descending whistle. Three of the hens rushed over to him, and the brooder went dead silent. By the time I could get that end open, he was gone.
They are all VERY silent and VERY quiet right now- I think they know.

RATS, RATS, RATS, RATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this sort of thing can happen, but I really loved that little guy- I've already cried all over his body, all over DH on the phone, and all over the rest of them....
