Just wanted to let everyone know that I placed my order for my (first) incubator today!

Also, TACEYPERKINS- we're ordering all of our seeds from Heirloom Seeds this year, we ordered some for our garden last year and loved the return so much that we decided to not buy from anyone else. Hope this helps you out.

oooooooohhhhh I love their seeds. Great company too.

Okay Dellie Fans... Cannonball is playing Queen of the hill this morning...so I got pictures.

She just perched her backside on my bag of compost and proceeded to dictate bug chasing instructions to the other 7

The infamous Thor and his Sister Athena

Speaking of Thor....that boy has got some BIG legs on him...he is so danged tall too, he now has to duck to go under the heat lamp in his coop so today it gets moved outside and pointed at the waterer

Edited to add : How long does it take Dellie's to fatten up? My girls still feel small when I pick them up. Then again, after carrying Thor anything would feel small. But The girls just don't feel like their breast is filling out. They are 18 weeks old and eating like huge pigs! I know some breed take longer than others and I was curious about that.

Glad Thor and his coop mates got to go out today. We cleaned out the main coop of all shavings, used the compressor and air hose to blow out as much dust as possible and put down new pine shavings, so I haven't had much contact with the Dels today, except for Ike and Gracie who came in to see what we were doing.

Cetawin - sniff, sniff - you have GREEN grass-

Thor is huge and gorgeous and Cannonball looks really chunky and gorgeous.Thor's FEET are huge. . . . You are going to have beautiful babies. I asked a few posts ago if my Dels were too thin, too, and the answers were pretty much in agreement that they go through a lanky stage, and they develop the weight later. In fact, Yardfull agreed with my DH that I was obsessing about their weight. Men just gotta stick together.

But I do feel better. And I remember Cynthia saying that Gracie has just recently filled out.

Cynthia, wasn't it the perfect day for outdoor work? I am stuck inside at a desk job today, but tomorrow, tomorrow. . . . .

But isn't that what WOMEN do....obsess about weight??!! That's a CONSTANT from my DW (maybe except for Cetawin who we need to put on a high protein "southern foods diet" when she gets to Kentucky!! Its biscuits and gravy for you girl!!!)

Sorry ladies....I had to take my shot while I had the chance

Hey Yard Full Of It I have broken the 90 pound mark thanks to my new diet plan....

Diet Plan O Cetawin - If it does not move or move too fast ... eat it!

Actually...I am doing good...I am eating 6 meals per day ( 3000 - 3500 calories and 50/25/25) plus lifting heavy weights 5 days per week and doing very very little cardio. I shall get bigger than my chickens *putting out her very best Vivian Leigh impression* As God as my witness I shall get fat!

GO SASHA!

Joletabey - That is one thing I will miss about this place...it is always so green. I know I worry when they feel thin...I am used to big ole girls and it has been almost 2 years since my biggie girls were this size and I cannot remember them every feeling "thin" But man this year's molt has been so hard on everyone's birds....mine were no exception. My SLW went from over 6 lbs down to around 4 lbs with her molt. Thor bless him is just a big ole tank of a boy....I am so thrilled with him. he is so much like his Daddy

Now if it comes about that I do take Isaac, I will have three great roos. Thor, Severus and Isaac. I would literally have the making of a great EE flock, Delaware Flock and BBS flock. LOVE IT!

I just gave Cannonball her first taste of blackoil sunflower seeds...the other babies are looking at them with great suspicion...Cannonball however took them from me immediately figuring if Mama offered it then it must be good and safe.
