Omigosh, Ladyhawk, I just saw the house! I love it!!!! How far is it from Cynthiana? Five acres is enough to do just about anything you want. We have 5.37 here, but it's mostly woods. Would love a little bit of pasture!

LadyHawk, That house is gorgeous! I love the pantry, and the porch, and the barn is drool worthy! Does the barn have electric??

Now that this hatch is done despite the results I'll be working on getting my hospital/rooster coops up. The One just needs to be cleaned out and have the old pigeon roosts taken out, then DH suggested adding in some lower roosts for them. The second one, well lets just say that DH + FIL + Tractor = no roof on my coop. So we'll have to find a way to get the roof back on, get it cleaned out and then it will be ready to be a breeding coop.

So all together when I'm done I'll have the Coop, the brooder coop, the Rooster Coop and the Breeding Coop. With all of this the Chickens will still prefer the barn, and Izzy one of my pygmy goats will still want to live in the big chicken coop. Of course all of this will have to wait until we get the fence done on the North West "Pasture" (it's woods right now until the goats get it cleared out a bit, then it will be walkable woods)

The life of a farmer.....

Cyn...me too. I have already spoken to her this morning and we are working out the nitty gritty details and I will prepare the contract this weekend and mail off to her on Monday.

Laney ty I love it too...and she is a real gem. She asked me if I had a riding lawn mower and I say no. This sweet thing said...well I have an older one here I will leave here for you...just keep it. The barn has electric but does not have water. So, I will still be wheelbarrowing in water to the birdies and will have to create an area outside for them to roam but not get off in the woods.

Now...who has a couple grand to give sweet little ole me so I can move to KY? Cyn? Laney? Kathy?

I'll give ya two roosters (NOT THOR!) as hostages.

Hi All delaware peeps~ I was wondering has anyone had any experience with the Delaware sellers on Ebay? I was interested in the seller "bytheebook" anyone here done business with him? How is his stock? Thanks everyone~ Tacey

popcornpuppy got some Del eggs from someone on eggbid or ebay out of PA. Not sure if that's the person you mean, but I'll go check and see. ***checked and it says she's in Englewood, TN? Not sure who that is. I'm a bit miffed at the stupid "Delaware Giant" label I keep seeing. They are called Delawares, period.

Never saw that label anywhere else or used by anyone else except that ebay seller.

BTW, was in town and saw some Delaware hens and a Del rooster for sale at the feedstore. I know they came from Ideal since that's where she gets all her chicks and raises some to sell. She wants $28 for each Del hen! They had very white legs and poor coloring, though not completely hopeless. Gosh, I'll sell a breeder quality Delaware hen for about half that!
