Kathy....yes "big ole birds" describes them well. Typical roo may be 10-11lbs!!

And yet another breed I must go see! I just HAVE to go to a poultry show somewhere, so I can see the different breeds!

10 - 11 pounds? That sounds like (another) one I will just have to have!

Oh I want to go to a show too!

Scott...your girls look like my two... Fattie is marked all up and great tail black Cannonball has just started getting markings on her neck that last week or so and a little tail black..she has barred faed tail feathers. They were 20 weeks old Monday...you can check out their recent pics on Page 240 of the thread. I just adore Harley...she is very sweet looking.

Kathy - I am with you. I love the big girls, you will love the Lt brahmas if you ever have one. My head girl was a lt brahma...she died of cardiac failure at 9 months old (she had a heart infection from birth). She was a big, sweet and deep voiced quiet girl. The ChiChi taught her to growl...and she would growl at you for attention. hahahaha She was 10 lbs when she passed. Big Girl! Here are a couple pics of her.

Scott, I love those pictures. Do you live in a wooded area?
Cool picture of Harley and Landon!

I have just noticed one of my Del chicks is nearly all white. She is Phoebe's chick. I have her banded.

What ... no picture of Pepper?

You really should NOT have posted that picture of that Brahma on this thread ... this is a Delaware thread! WHY did you do that????? Now, YOU have made me have to go research this bread!

Cetawin .... You like those big ol' breeds too, huh? Hmmm, I am just gonna have to check out those Brahmas!

<<<Thinkin' maybe just two (or ten) would be ok, huh? Hmmm, which breeds could I "trade in," for these?>>>

Ha you are just upset because now you have to make a new place for a new breed. Hey...call them feather legged Delawares if it will make you feel better.

Phoebe herself has very light hackles, but excellent tail black. Her comb isn't the best, but Kira's is worse and she produced Gracie--Isaac's influence will overcome most of the girls' minor shortcomings, I bet. Maxie is actually my least marked girl of all, but her comb is nice and she has a very feminine pretty face.

OK ... I've got it figured out .... dump the Easter Eggers. Replace them with Brahmas! Yeah, that'll work!

Scott .... Point me in the right direction >>> to get some of those big ol' feather legged Delawares!

Kathy....you won't believe it, but I have Light Brahmas in the bator!!!! I got 15 eggs from a breeder in Western TN, today is day 3 for them. I'll look up his info tomorrow and send it to you. Wish you were closer or were making a trip "down south" as I will have NO NEED for 15 Lt Brahma babies. I am actually growing to grow out another Lt Brahma roo for my Columbian Rock project....can you say "road trip"???!!!!

See what Cyn started?????....all I wanted was a "couple of chickens"
