We are back from Asheville! Wow, we had planned to hang out in Asheville today, had brunch and the locals started whispering "well we only live 10 minutes away so it won't be too bad". After conferring with a few of the wait staff it was decided we should just head for Greensboro ASAP.
It was a good thing we did as it was NASTY in the mountains then. Slush on the roads etc. Took us 45 minutes to get just to the other side of the mountain. We expected the snow to stop before we got to Greensboro (BTW it took us until 3 to get there), but it kept up. We stopped on the other side at a place called GrandDaddy's antiqes. Wait until you folks see this picture I took for you there. You'll have to wait until tomorrow though, because I'm beat!
We started home from the Antique Mall (HUGE) at about 5pm, and by then they were predicting snow for the whole state. It took us until about 7:30 to get home. At that point we had been informed of what was waiting for us. One sick 14yo who had kept most of her important obligations. (I.E. the house was a mess, dishes not done, chores not done, but the animals were fed, and the eggs were watched). She has a fever of 101.9, and is nauseous. Now, I'm not sure if the nausea comes from being ill, or the fact that 13 or 14 Hershey bars are missing from our S'more making kits. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. Also, she dealt with one of our goats kidding while we were out of town. This one was expected. Maggie gave birth to two boys, no names yet. So all in all we're pretty proud of her. Eggs are due to pip tomorrow.
