Hey Kathy -

Beth that is excellent.

Well not much going on here in this Human owned by Delaware's home...packing, going to get chicken and duck food and then dinner out with hubby tonight to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Hard to believe we have put up with each other for 9 years.

Get this nonsense....IT SNOWED HERE LAST NIGHT! Now I ask you...what the HELLO is up with that. I am trying to move powers that be so give it a rest!

Ok here's Nearly headless Nick. He's the dad of the chick I posted. Oh and the Purple Poultry Palace. I've got plans to put some polka dots on it this summer w/ the help of some friends.

OK, Beth, I'm back ..... I just went out and talked to my girls. ONE, only one, is barely beginning to show a bit of red at the base of her comb. It is like a wick, just starting at the base. I also told them to call Cora for advise and instructions.

Gotta tell what DH said, when I told him about Cora's egg. His words, "She's lying. That's a lie, not true, impossible. Lies, lies, lies. I'm going out to check the coops." <<< giggle >>>

I have no idea how old Nick is and right now he seems partial to the Aussies and SLW's. I have plans to seperate the Dels to their own section move Eric and his girls to the side w/ the mix of girls. But you can see why I don't want to keep this chick. I expect to keep the ones that hatch from your eggs and the daughters of Nick and the hens I have now.

I do have a question though.. One of the hatchery girls lays a pink egg. Why is this? It's not quite pink but looks pink and is more oval shaped. It is pretty and I know it's one of the hatchery girls as I've watched her and taken her eggs right after she's laid it. I have no intention of hatching any of the eggs from the hatchery girls. Even if Nick is the father.

Oh and the Polka dots will most likely be pink, green, white and yellow. Different sizes. Yeah I know I need help, but hey, life to short not to enjoy it.

I am more amazed than anyone that I have an egg already- but at least 5 of the girls are squatting, and Marianne's comb looks redder today plus she also gave me a nice rendition of the egg song- maybe they just like the air on the mountainside? Or maybe their mom was one of Cynthia's early layers.

Cora has her head cocked, looking to the west- Kathy, tell your girls to listen up!

Cetawin- I think it happened because Fattie told Buckshot about Cannonball, and he spread the word to my girls.
Hey! Happy Anniversary and

on your snow!!!! Maybe spring will come once you are here!

Rancherhicks- that is a really nice coop- I am a purple lover also- can you just bring it right over and set it in the middle of my purple, pink and blue flower garden??? I like Nick's tail- and I agree with Cynthia that he looks deep bodied-
