Kathy...in about 3 days to a week old you will tell the orps right away...they should start looking like tanks next to the Ameracauna.

Now Jeremy let me tell you about splash...I have a splash Cochin hen that is drop dead gorgeous and my Thor, Son of Suede is one handsome stud muffin. I have never liked splash roos of any breed but man I love my boy.

So, if you get a blue or a splash you will be pleased....promise. The blacks I cannot say because I have none but i have seen pics of Suede's black kids and they are gorgeous...but Thor is by far the best of off kids

Once, a guy who came here to buy some chicks begged me to buy Delilah, Suede's black daughter. He was just blown away by her and asked that if I wanted to sell her, to call him. The blacks are just amazingly stunning--pictures don't do them justice.

Yay Kathy on your hatch!!

Is my Smoky baby a Suede baby too? It is definitely a beautiful Splash and is growing fine, but looks almost like a dwarf next to the fast growing Dellies. It fits right in with the White Javas though.

Today was a tough day. With this cold still dragging me down I took my daughter to her group run. She needs to run a 5K in 32min to earn her black belt. Right now she is able to do 2 miles or 3K in 27:40 and not be out of breath. This is a huge improvement over last week when she did the same distance but almost needed the hospital after running the 2 miles in 28minutes. So, if she can add another mile to her distance in the next 20 days she'll do OK.

Then I got home and fed Ivan the Crazy his second helping if Eggs and vitamin water. He's doing better as far as the cheeping goes, but still spinning and spinning. After that I took an hour and a half nap because I couldn't keep my eyes open. After getting up I cleaned up the heated outdoor brooder coop and got it set up and we moved all the babies except for Crazy Ivan out. They seemed to like it, but were very vocal, I'm sure in chickie speak they were calling out "look at this, and did you see this?" Of course now Crazy Ivan won't shut up. He's lonely. So I've got to decide if I need to bring another chick into the house. If I do it will be the other Java as it is also slow growing. The Dellies get so big so fast!!!

Oops I typed to fast. DH decided that he was just too stressed so Ivan might go out to rejoin his flock only to come in for therapy.
