Cyn, yesterday when you said they might want to go back in the shell, because of the weather, I had to laugh, because this had just happened! The one in the mottled shell hatched and turned back and went back it the shell !

Kathy, those babies are cuuuuuuuuuuuute! I set 3 of Smokey's eggs and 3 of Dusty's eggs with my Dell eggs. I'm hoping to get a couple blue babies out of the hatch! I really, really want some Blue Orpingtons, I think I may like them more than my Buff girls already.

I'm so jealous that everybody has babies now, I still have 19 days to go... UUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH.

Good Morning from Las Vegas!

We have been having a great time. I just keep thinking about my chicks at home with my mom. Wondering if she is taking good care of them. Gosh I hope so. She is takeing care of my kids, garden and other chickens too. But, I wasn't too concerned about them. Well, Vegas has been nice, cold at night, and today it is a little breezy and very sunny! We have been doing alot of sight seeing and some gambling. We won a little over $100 on slot play yesterday, so that was alot of fun!

I will post some pictures soon of the Vegas strip. Talk to you all later.

So Sorry to hear about the rotten egg. I had one of those about a mth ago. It was awful, it broke in the nest while the hen was on it. Poor mama hen! But, it almost made me loose my lunch. It was the worst thing I ever smelt!

Kathy you can put that Cochin with the Silkie mama, I'm sure. The weather here is awful still-no wonder that chickie wants to go back in! A very cold rain has been falling all day. On a good note, my friend Sara came and got her three chicks so I'm down to 13 in the Firetower. Started with 18, a friend took 2, then Sara has taken 3 others home. Hopefully, tomorrow, my friend Chris (Kullas on BYC) will get the extra 6 Plymouth Rocks and I'll be left with my 7 keepers. For the first time in ages, though, no Delawares among them. Ike is happy with his six hens because none of them is picking at him. He's completely healed!

Now, cross your fingers that the BLRW/Ameraucana cross is a pullet or I'll be down to six rather than seven. Will be keeping the Blue Wheaten Ameraucana cockerel as long as he behaves himself.
