Beth, I am so so sorry about Buckshot. His name will be the first on my new memorial post here.

Kathy, I went too far North to snatch Polly, but there will be another time I am sure. hehehehe

As Cyn told everyone, I had the trip from Helll! My birds are ticked off at me, my house rooms are painted in the most hideous colors you can imagine, my jaw hurts and I am cranky and to top it off, my birds are still in their cages in my garage and only getting some free range time during the day until I get rid of the neighbor's chickens and re-disinfect everything. There is much security tightening to be done in the barn area before I leave my babies out there.

The birds did the trip well and I have pictures of the journey and their setup to share later (when I find my camera's USB cable). The birds travelled through heat, sleet, snow, freezing and below temps, sunshine and many many stops. They met tons of people along the way who all wanted to see them after Thor crowed. hahahaha

So, to give you the funny details....Cyn pretty much kept you updated on the trip but once we arrived, I pulled up to my Mothe in law, brother in law and daughter already here, a flock of chickens roaming through my field and yard and ticked off babies in the truck. They were ticked because I would not let them out.....with strange chickens wandering around there was NO WAY my babies were getting out.

There are two large areas in the barn set up which need some work to tighten security to my satisfaction but all in all, it is not too bad.

The neighbor's little 2 lb menace rooster flogged me and not thinking as well as some (ahem) and no sheet handy

I punted his little arse about 8' in the air and about 7 feet away from me. He has not been back. I have spoken to this neighbor who owns the little beast and his flock of women (which are gorgeous big girls BTW) who, in reponse to my statement "I am sorry, but you are going to have to keep your chickens off my property" with this genius level response "How do you expect me to do this?".

After the week driving I had, the hassles with a dingbat dentist and various other little nuisances I could no longer contain myself and gave him the smart arse reply of "Oh I don't know...why not try building them a coop and a small fence ON YOUR PROPERTY rather than letting them live on my property, roost in my barn and roam my yard!"

Sooooooooo I have no idea how this will play out but I know my freezer will be stocked with nice fat hens if he does not do something danged soon. My babies are being restricted because of his birds and it is ticking me off plus his little menace rooster will be choked to death if he flogs me again because I am not going to let Thor kick his arse (which he wants to do) and get scratched or anything....I will choke the life out of him myself. I HATE HATE HATE bantam roosters with little man syndrome. grrrrrrrr

I will save discussion of my gawd awful sunshine yellow kitchen, sage green with pink and lavender roses bordered master bedroom, lavender walled second bedroom or horrendous blue walled third bedroom or the sweet baby blue with pink roses bordered man cave for another day.

I hate Hughes Net...it is not much faster than dial up and I miss my DSL....

Anyone have some decent colored paint that you wish to bring with you to visit me? About 2400 sq ft worth please. Hardwire cloth, lumber and etc is also welcome.

Cetawin is back!!!!! WELCOME HOME!!!!! WE MISSED YOU!!!!!

I am so sorry you had the trip from Hades- and even sorrier you already have problems with the neighbors- unfortunately, I suspect you will have to put up the fence on your property line- it doesn't sound like you are going to get much cooperation. . . . . .grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Thank you for including Buckshot on your memorial post- that is so nice of you!

What are your colors? I sort of like sage green and lavender myself....

um, well me, too

But, you have to do it right. And no pink. Can't do pink and yellow, either. Ick. Will have to post a pic of my sage green and violet bathroom for you. Okay, back under my chair now.

Okay, so this color wasn't exactly what I had in mind. Wanted a more smoky, grayed-down lavender, but if you could have seen this before, you'd realize this is a MAJOR improvement from when we bought the place. We retrofitted that dresser for the vanity ourselves.

Until I remarried, my piano room was the most beautiful shade of lavender, with green, black and cream accents. Now it's a lovely green - ICI Sandarac, with cream and brown and a touch of red. And my LR and DR are ICI Pacific Pines....green is Mother Nature's neutral as far as I am concerned- soothes me. BUT, like you said, you gotta do it right. It has to be the right shades and intensities. I lucked out working for an interior decorator. And everyone has their own color scheme that suits them- my DH loves earth tones and fall colors. I love teals and greens and lavenders.

I like your bathroom, Cyn- it's a good, serene color that still has some power, and you did a great job on the vanity - maybe it's the pink and lavender rose border on the green that doesn't do it for Cetawin.....

Bright yellow is not my idea of fun either, but that's because yellow turns my skin green!!!!
