Hey all,
Just poking my head in. I'm having a time of it. My little dog Brodie was hit by a car and didn't make it. We have 17 acres, the whole front fenced in pasture except for the drive and he ran down the drive chasing prey at night. He was a black dog so I can't blame the driver, not even for the fact that he didn't stop as Brodie was only 20lbs...they probably thought they hit a pothole, or a possum.
We found him not long after but injuries were too great. The following week my father went into the hospital for a systematic virus that they can't identify. He is home now, but in much pain as the virus is acting like shingles.
The chickens are doing great and growing by leaps and bounds. I think that sawsall might be laying, but I'm not sure! I haven't caught her at it yet. I have 2 for sure picks at Biden's replacements that have great color, wing carriage and comb. One is ooh la, la. He has amazing coloring - Might, and I say Might be able to match the Big I here. He only has 4 comb points so he looses out there, but he has really good wing carriage and is such a chubber!!! I really like him. #2 is only number two because his tail color just can't compete. I have a #3, but his comb is bent and his coloring is light. I'm having a much harder time with hens. Quite a few of them are very light, with almost no markings. Several have very off color on the legs, almost green. There are 2 or 3 great ones though, so I've got a good working stock.
I don't know if I told you in the last post, but Shannon passed her black belt test and has gotten her belt in the Ceremony of Lights this past weekend. That frees up a LOT of my time!
I hope to be back to the thread as a regular if not now then soon. I miss you all, hope I haven't missed too much as there are just too many posts to catch up on. Someone shoot me a synopsis PM if it isn't too much trouble?
